You can go to Australia on an ETA which is a tourist visa on which no work is allowed. You can get an ETA online in a few minutes for a cost of AUD$20 (USD$20). Because no work is allowed, when you arrive in Australia, you may be required to show that you have access to sufficient funds to pay all expenses during your entire stay. If you intend staying for the whole 3 months of the ETA, that would be something like AUD$7200 - $9000 (90 days @ $80 - $100/day) and if it appears that you don't have enough to pay your way without working illegally, you will be denied entry and put on the first plane back to the USA.

You can go to Australia for 12 months on a subclass 462 Work and Holiday visa on which you can work at any job/s you can find, but only for up to 6 months with each employer. A W&HV will cost you AUD$270 (USD$300). You are required to have access to AUD$5000 plus enough additional for a return or onward air ticket.

As a chef, when you have at least 1 year of experience (a mandatory requirement), you may be eligible to apply for the following visas:
• Temporary Business (Long Stay) - Standard Business Sponsorship (Subclass 457) visa.
Before you can apply for a 457, you must have found an employer who is eligible and willing to sponsor you. The Visa Application Charge (VAC) for a 457 is AUD$305 (USD$340). The cost to the employer is AUD$80 for the nomination and AUD$405 for the sponsorship plus they must pay your airfare back to the USA if required at the end of the visa (which can be for up to 4 years). A W&HV is an excellent way to come to Australia and find employer sponsorship during your stay.
• After working on a 457 for 2 years, if your employer is willing to sponsor you, you can apply for a permanent Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 121/856) visa. The VAC for a 121/856 is AUD$2960 (USD$3285) and the nomination charge for the employer is AUD$520.

• If your occupation is listed on the State Migration Plan (SMP) for one of Australia's states or territories, you can apply for state sponsorship from that state. If you are granted sponsorship AND provided you can pass the points test AND have a positive skills assessment from TRA (the organisation responsible for assessment of chefs - TRA requires you to have 3 years full time, paid, post qualification work experience), you can then apply for a Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 176). The VAC for a 176 is AUD$2960 (USD$3285). On top of the VAC, you will have the cost of skills assessment (AUD$300), medicals (in the USA, around USD$500) and police checks for each country (and for the USA each state) you have lived in for longer than 12 months since you turned 16 (cost varies). The USD$573 AUD$549 quoted by the website you visited is only their fee - all of the other fees are unavoidable and are payable in addition to agent fees.

Glede turisticne vize ti je verjetno jasno, da ne smes delat. Do Working Holiday vize Slovenci nimamo pravice.
Vse ostalo pa stima. Poglej na trenutne liste, ce je tvoj poklic gor, preveri se ostale pogoje, pa v akcijo. |

Tukaj imas eno lepo tabelo s ta glavnimi vizami in pogoje:
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/overseas-options.pdf
